Sad but true, as of late, we have been apart and not spending nearly them amount of time together that I want, but this little group is near and dear to my heart. I've been a part of their lives since they have come into the world, photographed two out of the four births, baby-sat them, read them stories, rocked them so sleep, played monsters, played barbies, played kitties, gone on many family outings, changed diapers, hugged, kissed and have loved them to pieces. I can't imagine a life without them or mommy and daddy (Melissa and Johnny), but soon they will be moving out of the country.

Emmersons, you have stuck closer to me then a brother, loved me unconditonally and Jesus has used you to help change my life for the better. I can't fathom having to do life without you. You will always have a special place in my heart.

Ben and Janine :: Married!

I recently had the privilege of shooting a wedding for two wonderful people. Ben and Janine didn't have a 'traditional' wedding, but it was special, intimate and unique to them. Ben and Janine decided to have no guests at their wedding ceremony but had only me (yay!) and the minister. They married at a darling hotel in darling downtown Geneva. (Yes, it was so darling I did have to say it twice!) Everything was going so lovely, until it started to rain, and it kept raining until we were done shooting. Typical. I felt so sad that we were not able to shoot at some of the areas that we were hoping, but it forced us to be creative and made for a memorable and enjoyable day with some fantastic shots, if I do say so myself! Here are some of my favorites of the day.

Hayley

After about 5,621 cancelations and re-scheduling fiascos, I finally sat in the Starbucks (my home away from home) and waited for Hayley to arrive for our shoot. Having only spoken on the phone, my mind kept conjuring up images of what I thought matched the voice on the other side. After cleaning my lenses for the third time and rudely staring at the 15 or so customers who came in before deciding that they were not who I was here to meet, in came Hayley, and all I could think was, 'what a doll.' She was the cutest little thing I had seen! She had a darling little grey dress, red flats, a great smile and the most perfect ringlets! Having curls myself, I had to hold back asking (at least until the third or fourth question) what she uses on her hair. But enough of the gab and onto the photos! Hayley, you were fabulous to photograph and I'm so glad we finally met up!
