Seattle, home of Starbucks coffee! And starbucks there are, almost one every corner! My dream come true! haha.
OK, for the real reason I was in Seattle. I was invited out to the coast to photograph my dear cousins wedding! I also had the honor of being asked to participate in the bridal party, unfortunately, I came out solo and also unfortunately am not omnipresent, altho at times that would be convenient. So, sadly, I declined the position of bridesmaid so that I could focus solely on photographing the event.
I arrived in Seattle mid-morning and after meeting up with my cousin plus a few of her girlfriends, she took me on a tour of Seattle.
Becca my cousin is on the right and Chelsea on the left.
This is the gum wall, where there are approx. 284,973 pieces of gum. It's really cool yet seriously disgusting all in one.
Sticking our gum on the wall. I was there, it only seemed logical!
Visiting Pike Place Market, and the original Starbucks! I got a Pumpkin Spice Latte, it only seemed right to get my first PSL of the year at the original. :) ( Also, there was a UPS truck in the way of the building so I couldn't get a photo of the front.) :(
Cousin!!
On our way somewhere I saw this huge bus/boat thing and for whatever the reason, maybe the lack of sleep and traveling across the country or being over stimulated by the fact that there is a Starbucks on EVERY CORNER, I just about jumped throught the moon roof when I saw this thing, "WHAT IS THAT??" My cousin found it quite humorous if I remember correctly.
Your Team.
If you've ever been around the Space Needle i'm sure you've seen these Iron Whales sticking out of the ground. According to Beka, the pod of orcas that swim through the harbor does so in the springish, so I had to be satisfied with these things.
Weirdos, I know.
My cousins favorite store, the Vespar store!
Her fiancee, Eric, joined us later.
Stunning everything in this particular neighborhood, houses, flowers, lighting and a phenomenal view.
See the rainbow?!?!
I dont' even know, he was under a bridge.
A dozen boats sailing on the harbor just after sunset.
While the boys were flying a kite, we left them to go have the bachelorette party!! Eek! I was so sad though, all of this wonderfulness happened on the same day I flew in, and as much as I loved it, I was totally exhausted by the time the party rolled around. The plane ride had even taken all the curl out of my hair!! I tried to pull it together thought and join in the fun...after a few...drinks...zzzzzzzz.
Next day! Becca was pretty well prepared and all we had pre-wedding day was get our nails done (easy) and buy flowers. Becca choose to get her flowers at Pike Place Market, not only because they were stunningly beautiful, but also because they were dirt cheap!!
A few photos I snapped while Becca was finishing up picking put flowers.
More talent then I've ever beheld, seriously! A hula-hoop, spinning a plate (or maybe it was a frisbee) on one finger and SOLVING a rubix cube in the other hand. WOW!
A few shots of the rehersal. Eric and Becca had the ceremony and reception on a boat on the harbor, more to come on that in the next post.
Wedding and Ceremony of Eric and Becca Jansen coming sooooooon!!!
